Eleanor Rahim

Eleanor Rahim was born in London. Always painting and drawing as a child, she eventually went on to obtain a Foundation Course in Art and Design and a BA (Hons) Graphic Design.

During her college years she felt the need to travel and so spent a long, summer vacation traveling throughout Europe in a Volkswagon camper van, sketching and painting wherever she went.

After college, she worked in a graphic design studio where she discovered her love for decorative illustration. However, she took off on her travels again, this time for a year with a school friend, a backpack, a sketchbook and little else. Her travels took her to India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Bali, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii and mainland United States. During this time she gained experience as a toy designer in Hong Kong and Taiwan and then as a surface designer of paper products for an Australian company based in Sydney.

Eleanor started her art and design licensing business in London and continues with her career in New York City having relocated in 2007. She joined the Art Students League of New York and received a commendation in her first group show. Her painting was selected to participate in the ASL’s annual prestigious ‘Red Dot Show’.

Realizing her true passion for fine art, she spends as much time as possible in her Long Island City studio, just across the East River from Manhattan, and is still enjoying her successful career as a designer. She has the privilege to study with abstract painter Ronnie Landfield at the League.
